Moving Beyond Quick Fixes & Finding the Path to True Healing

the wholistic glow

Most of us are faced with problems that we don’t always know the origin of. We feel like we can’t do certain things, maybe because of challenges that include mental health, physical health, or other situational issues. We blame ourselves for not being able to do something, or we blame the diagnosis or labels given to us. We seek help, and all we get are quick fixes that cover things up without offering a real solution or long-term relief. Instead, they make us dependent on prescriptions or services that don’t give lasting results. If something isn’t working for us and we feel like we’ve tried our best, most of us just give up, thinking, “It is what it is. This is who I am. This is the life I’m meant to live.” But is that really the truth?

If something isn’t working for us, we need to ask ourselves: Is there anything else I could be doing to better my situation or better myself? No one is going to hand us the perfect solution. If we rely only on what we’re told to do, we’ll never find the thing that’s truly meant to work for us. We are all unique, and what works for one person might not work for another. That’s why trying to find what works for us is so important. We are our biggest advocates, our strongest allies, and we understand ourselves better than anyone else. If we give ourselves the chance to explore and figure things out, we’ll discover what can help us in the long run. But it takes commitment and self-love to keep pushing forward until we find what works.

It’s amazing how we give our time and energy freely to others but hold back when it comes to bettering ourselves. We say, “I can’t do this, I can’t do that,” and look for a quick fix or someone else to solve our problems. Little do we realize that we hold the most power in our own lives. We have access to so much information these days—so many ways of doing things that are different from the norm. If the usual methods aren’t working, it’s up to us to try something else.

Have we explored all the alternatives—like alternative methods of healing, medicine, or living? There could be something perfect for us, whether it’s about healing or living the life we truly desire. Living a life of joy, happiness, and peace won’t be handed to us. It’s foolish to expect the mainstream to provide long-term solutions. The mainstream profits by keeping you as a customer, and for you to be a customer, you must continue having problems. But if you take matters into your own hands, do your own research, and explore alternatives, you give yourself a chance at living the life you deserve.

This requires commitment, self-love, and an understanding of your worth. It may take time to find what works for you, but once you do, the sky’s the limit. You’ll feel more empowered than ever, fully in control of your own life and your decisions. This doesn’t mean you won’t seek help from others, but you’ll no longer be at the mercy of someone else telling you what to do. You will be choosing the solutions that work best for you.

Since we have the luxury of having so much information at our fingertips, it’s also our responsibility to do the work—research, understand ourselves, and figure out how to solve our problems. If we feel trapped, stuck, or unhappy, it’s often a sign that we need to look inward and figure out what’s been going on for a long time. Just because we’ve had a few counseling sessions or received a prescription doesn’t mean our problems are solved. It’s always deeper than what’s on the surface.

Because we are complex, holistic beings, everything from our past continues to affect us unless we stop and process it. Suppressed emotions, ignored pain, and unresolved trauma will manifest in different ways—whether through illness, unhappiness, depression, or addiction. To find true solutions, we need to understand the depth of our problems. These problems could be coming from things we’ve suppressed, ignored, or hidden. We have to unearth and address them in a way that provides long-term results and freedom from what holds us back.

If solving problems were easy, it would have been done already. But it’s not easy, and that’s why quick fixes don’t work long-term. A prescription or pill isn’t going to fix the root cause. Complex problems require complex solutions. A lifetime of trauma or disconnection can’t be resolved in just a few therapy sessions or with medication. We need to ask ourselves, “Have I tried everything in my power to resolve this?”

We need well-rounded, holistic solutions because we are holistic beings. Since we’re all unique, we need unique methods or tools to solve our problems. This is why we hold the power to our own solutions. No one else can fully solve our problems for us—they can help and guide us, but we must take the lead in our own healing and restoration. We need to be willing to explore and ask for more, seeking out what else is available for us.

We also need to consider simple, natural practices that have been neglected in modern society, like deep breathing, taking cold showers, building community, or volunteering. These small actions could positively impact our lives. But because of our obsession with quick fixes, we rarely give them a chance or doubt that they could solve our “big” problems. Yet, these simple, natural practices might be the long-term solutions we’ve been searching for all along.

In the end, finding solutions requires effort, self-awareness, and a willingness to try something new. True, lasting changecomes from understanding that quick fixes aren’t the answer. Real solutions come from deep within ourselves, from taking control of our lives, and from exploring what works uniquely for us.
