Procrastination and self-sabotage aren't inherently bad...

Procrastination and self-sabotage aren't inherently bad...

Have you ever asked why you struggle with self sabotage and/or procrastination?

Don't we just hate it or get frustrated at our own self for not keeping our own promise?

But...it doesn't make sense, because it is ourselves that want to do something but it is also in within us that we somehow procrastinate and not complete that task we set in our minds!

Then, we say that procrastination and self sabotage are BAD.

Let's look at it this way...

Both are not necessarily a bad thing from our body and mind's perspective.

Our mind is trying to keep us safe by sabotaging our new efforts, same thing with procrastination.

For the longest time, I thought that I was lazy for not following through.

but things are always deeper than they look.

Procrastination and self sabotage are your mind and body's way of keeping you safe.

Is that not a relief?

This realization definitely makes you understand that the self-blame and the self-hate that comes from procrastinating so much needs to be let go of and instead be filled with compassion.

Therefore, once we realize that, we stop forcing ourselves to take action and start to look at the deeper reason behind our procastination and self sabotage.

Even when we look at the word procrastination, PRO-CAST-INATION, it gives me the meaning for casting before we take action, it gives me the meaning of casting what is to come before it happens. For whatever reason, our mind and body do not feel safe or comfortable to do the task therefore find a convincing reason to avoid it.

We can start asking, why does my body not feel safe? Why does my mind hold me back? What am I trying to avoid?

When we ask such questions, we understand the WHY.

Once we figure out the why, then we begin to deal with it because that is the cause of our procrastination.

Knowing how to deal with things at the root will bring us lasting and loving results than harshly criticizing ourselves for something we don't know.@thewholilsticglow
