I'm Widet Abudraa, a Maltese author and a firm believer that some of the most powerful human experiences are the ones we never find the words for.

I began writing my debut novel, The Ache Between Us, in 2025. It wasn't a story I planned so much as one I needed to tell. The longing and yearning that comes with loving someone deeply, yet always being left with words unsaid, is a feeling that few people truly talk about but so many quietly carry. My passion as a writer is taking those unspoken, complex emotions and translating them into something that feels real on the page, something that makes a reader feel less alone in what they've felt.

The Ache Between Us is personal in the truest sense. It holds the kind of ache that grows when time isn't on your side, when love is real but circumstances aren't, when silence says more than any conversation ever could. I wrote it for everyone who has ever loved someone and felt that gap between what they felt and what they were able to say.
