Statement of Faith

The Scriptures

We believe that the Scriptures, both the Tanakh (Hebrew Scriptures) and the Messianic Writings (New Testament), are fully inspired and are G-d’s complete and final revelation to man until the Messiah returns. The 66 books of the Bible are inerrant in the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek autographs. They are true and authoritative in every category of knowledge to which they speak, are G-d-breathed, and are useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. (Isaiah 40:7-8; Jeremiah 31:31; Proverbs 30:5-6; Matthew 5:18; John 10:35; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Pet.1:19-21)

The Torah

We believe that the Torah consists of the first books of the Tanakh, the books of Moses, Genesis (Bereishit), Exodus (Shemot), Leviticus (Vayikra), Numbers (Bamidbar), and Deuteronomy (Devarim). When G-d gave the Torah to Israel, He gave the Torah to them after He brought them out of the Mizraim (Egypt), giving the Torah to His redeemed people. The Torah is G-d’s instruction to Israel, telling them how to physically live with Him in the Land He gave them as an eternal promise through their Father Abraham. The Torah does not fade away in this age until all is accomplished and Heaven and Earth disappear, but it is written on the hearts of Israel, Judah, and those who join them in the Commonwealth of Israel in the New Covenant. The Torah of the L-rd provides instruction, according to the Torah, for olam (eternally). (Genesis 12:1-3, 15:1-20, 17:1-14; 26:1-6, 35:9-11; Leviticus 26:40-45; Deuteronomy 28-29, 30:1-6; 1 Kings 9:4-5; 2 Kings 20:1-3; Isaiah 2:1-3; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Amos 9:13-15; Micah 4:4, and Zechariah 3:10; Nehemiah 20:28-29; Matthew 5:17-20; Acts 15:12-21; Romans 3:31, 7:7-12; James 2:14-26; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The Believer and the Torah

We believe that the L-rd gave the Torah to Israel for three purposes: to teach what sin is, to guide to the Messiah, and to help one physically live for the L-rd in the Land. Torah, as the L-rd gives it, is perfect and will guide one in life with the L-rd. Israel and the Ger Toshav (Resident Foreigners who lived in Israel and had parts of the Torah they were to keep) were not able to keep the written Word. The L-rd, when He brings Israel fully back from exile when they have repented, will give Israel a heart of flesh. Israel and the Members of the Nations who join them will have the Torah written upon their hearts by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). (Leviticus 16:29; 17:10; 18:26, 19:34, 20:1-5; Deuteronomy 1:16, 15:15-16; Jeremiah 31:31-34; Amos 9:13-15; Micah 4:4, and Zechariah 3:10; Matthew 5:17-20; Acts 15:12-21, 21:24-26; Romans 3:31, 7:7-12; James 2:14-26)

Echad

We believe that G-d is one but has manifested Himself in three separate and distinct Persons. Hence, we believe that G-d is Echad, meaning He is a plural unity; he is singular but plural in His oneness. The Echad: Av, Ben, and Ruach HaKodesh (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). G-d is the creator of all things. He is infinite and perfect, eternally existing in three equal persons, each possessing the nature of deity, as well as the characteristics of personality. He is Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 48:16; Matthew 28:19; John 6:27; Acts 5:3,4; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:8)

Part 1: G-d the Av (Father) – We believe He is Av (Father) over all creation, and thus its sovereign ruler; Father of Israel, whom He has chosen as His unique people; Av of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), whom He sent into the world to redeem mankind and creation; and Father of all who trust in His gracious provision. (Genesis 12:1-3; Exodus 4:22; Matthew 3:17; John 1:12, 3:16; Acts 17:29; Galatians 3:26)

Part 2: G-d the Ben (Son) – We believe that G-d the Ben became flesh in the person of Yeshua of Nazareth, the promised Messiah of Israel, who was conceived of the Spirit of G-d and born of the Jewish virgin, Miriam (Mary). We believe in His full deity and full humanity, His sinless life, and His miracles. We believe that Messiah Yeshua arose from the dead bodily, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Av, making intercession for believers. He will come again in glory establishing His literal Millennial kingdom on earth to finish fulfilling the Torah. (Leviticus 17:11; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6-7, 52:13-53:12; Jeremiah 23:5-6; Micah 5:2; Zechariah 12:10; Psalm 22:16; Mark 10:45; Luke 1:26-79; John 1:1, 8:58; 2,14-18; Romans 3:24-26, 5:8-9; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; 2 Corinthians 5:14, 21; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:2-3, 7:1-25, 8:1; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 John 2:1)

Part 3: G-d the Ruach HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit) – We believe the Ruach HaKodesh is a Person. He possesses all the distinct attributes of deity and personality. He does not call attention to Himself and is ever present to glorify and testify of Messiah Yeshua. We believe the Spirit of G-d is active today, convicting the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates, seals, and sets the believer apart to a holy life. At the moment of salvation, each believer is baptized with the Ruach into the body of Messiah and, at the same moment, is permanently indwelt by the Ruach. All believers are complete in Messiah and possess every spiritual blessing. We believe that at salvation, the Ruach sovereignly imparts at least one spiritual gift to every believer for the purpose of edifying and equipping the body of Messiah. (Genesis 1:2; Psalm 139:7-8; Nehemiah 9:20; John 15:26-27, 16:7-15; Acts 5:4; 1 Corinthians 2:10-11; 12:4-31; 1 Corinthians 2:10-11, 12:4-31; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 1:13-14, 4:30; 1 John 5:6; John 14:16-17, 15:26-27, 16:7-15)

HaSatan (Satan) and Demons

We believe in the reality and personality of HaSatan, the Adversary of G-d. HaSatan is the originator of moral evil and the god of this world. He and his agents are active in blinding mankind to spiritual truth, inciting anti-Semitism, and attempting to defeat believers. Believers can and should resist him by applying Scriptural truth. (Isaiah 14:12-17; Ezekiel 28:11-19; 2 Corinthians 4:3-4; 10:3-5; Ephesians 2:1-2, 6:10-18; 1 Timothy 3:6; 2 Peter 2:4)

Angels

We believe a great company of angels are before the throne of G-d, praising, worshiping, adoring, and glorifying Him. They are sent forth to bring about G-d’s intended plans and purposes, and to minister to all believers. (Isaiah 6:1-7; Daniel 10:10-21; Luke 15:10; Hebrews 1:13,14; Revelation 7:11-12)

Man

We believe that man was created in the image of G-d. Adam sinned and consequently experienced not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from G-d. All human beings are born with a sinful, corrupted nature, and sin in thought, word, and deed. Man’s state of sin has so infected his will that he is unable to choose G-d’s provision of redemption in Messiah Yeshua without the work of the Ruach HaKodesh (The Holy Spirit) in his understanding. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:16-17, 3:6, 6:5; 8:21; Exodus 33:19; Isaiah 53:6, 64:6; Jeremiah 17:9, 31:33; Psalm 14:1-3; Mark 7:20-23; John 2:24-25, 3:3-5, 6:44; Romans 3:23, 5:12-19, 9:1-18; Ephesians 2:1-10)

Salvation

We believe that anyone who by faith trusts Messiah Yeshua as Savior and Redeemer is immediately forgiven of sin and becomes a child of G-d. This salvation is not the result of any human effort or merit; it is the undeserved favor of G-d. Further, there is no other way of salvation apart from faith in Messiah Yeshua for any person, whether Jewish or Gentile. We believe that Messiah Yeshua died as the sacrifice for man’s sin and that all who believe in Him are declared righteous on the basis of His shed blood alone. We believe that all believers are kept eternally secure by the power of G-d through the new birth and the indwelling and sealing of the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 15:6; Leviticus 17:11; Deuteronomy 9:4-6; Habakkuk 2:4; John 1:12,13; Acts 2:37-39; Romans 1:16,17, 3:28, 8:9,15-17; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8,9,19; Titus 3:5)

The Body of Messiah

We believe that all believers in Yeshua are members of the community of Messiah. Membership in the body is based solely on faith in Messiah. This body is the Commonwealth of Israel and is composed of both Jews and Members of the Nations who join with Israel and are made one in Messiah. While Members of the Nations do not become Israel, they are joined with Israel in the Commonwealth of Israel. While there is a distinction in their callings by G-d, there is no separation between Jewish people and Members of the Nations. These members are under the solemn duty to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of love. We believe that the purpose of the local congregation is to glorify G-d through worship, instruction, accountability, discipline, fellowship, and outreach. Its eldership is open to men who fulfill the qualifications for elder as set forth in the Scriptures. The Scriptures encourage the active participation and regular assembly of believers in the local body. (Isaiah 2:1-4, 49:6, 22, 56:6-7; Jeremiah 31:32; Zechariah 8:22-23, 14:16-19; Matthew 16:15-18 Luke 22:24-27; Acts 1:5, 2:14-36; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 6:1; Ephesians 2:11-18, 5:23-27; Colossians 1:18, 3:14,15)

The Gifts and Present-Day Ministry of the Holy Spirit

We believe that at salvation, the Holy Spirit imparts at least one spiritual gift to every believer to edify and equip the body of the Messiah. We believe that G-d sovereignly distributes spiritual gifts to believers, and everyone may not get the same gift, so giving undue emphasis to any one particular gift can be divisive. We believe that G-d heals in accordance with His will. This may occur miraculously, medically, naturally, or in the presence of the L-rd. Supernatural healing may occur in response to prayer and in accordance with G-d’s sovereign will, or healing may happen through G-d using a physician, or the person may ultimately die and become healed in the presence of the L-rd. We believe that the filling of the Holy Spirit is the ongoing process of G-d to which we yield, whereby He sanctifies us and brings forth the fruit of the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 41:38; Exodus 28:3, 31:2-3, 36:1; Numbers 11:25-25, 24:2-3,27;18; Judges 3:10, Judges 6:34, 11:29, 14:6, 1 Samuel 10:10, 1 Samuel 16:13, 1 Samuel 19:20; 2 Kings 2:9; Isaiah 59:21, Ezekiel 2:2; Micah 3:8; Daniel 4:8; 1 Chronicles 12:18; 2 Chronicles 15:1, 20:14, 24:20; Romans 8:13-14; 1 Corinthians 12:28-31; 13:1-3,13; 1 Corinthians 14:12, 19, 23, 27-28; Galatians 5:22-23)

Israel

We believe Israel is G-d’s special people, the apple of His eye, made up solely of the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, chosen by Him as a holy nation and a kingdom of priests. The election of Israel is irrevocable. Jewish believers are the remnant of physical Israel and part of the Body of Messiah. The Body of Messiah is made of Jewish people and Members of the Nations who join with Israel in the worshiping of the G-d of Israel. We believe the Abrahamic Covenant is an irrevocable, unconditional covenant G-d made with the Jewish people. This covenant provides title to the land of Israel for the Jewish people and promises a descendant (the Messiah) who would come to redeem Israel and bless the entire world. The spiritual blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant overflow to all the nations. G-d will ultimately fulfill every aspect of the covenant in the Messianic Kingdom. We believe that Israel’s eternal covenant relationship with G-d does not grant atonement to individual Jewish people. Therefore, the believer’s privilege and duty is to tell the Good News of Messiah Yeshua to the Jewish people. (Genesis 12:1-3, 15:1-21, 17:1-21; Exodus 19:6; Zechariah 2:8; Romans 11:1-29; Galatians 3:14-17; 1 Peter 2:9)

The Kingdom

We believe that when Yeshua returns, He returns to be the conquering King Messiah expected by the Prophets and the Apostles. Yeshua is not reigning over a spiritual Kingdom currently but will return, in the Father’s good time, to reign on His physical throne over His physical Kingdom in Jerusalem. In His first incarnation, Yeshua spent the majority of His teaching on the Kingdom from G-d in Heaven and spent His last forty days with His talmidim (students, disciples) teaching on the Kingdom. In His second incarnation, Yeshua, the Son of David, will return to take up His throne. He will return the same way He left; He will touch His feet upon the Mount of Olives, walk into Jerusalem, destroy Israel’s enemies, and take up His physical throne during His physical reign in the Temple in Jerusalem, which will last for one thousand years. (Isaiah 63:1-6; Zechariah 14:4-21; Daniel 2:44; Matthew 4:23-25, 24:14; Luke 8:1, 4:43; Acts 1:3-11, Acts 7:55-56; Revelation 20:1-3)

Last Things

We believe that upon physical death, believers enter into the joyous presence of G-d, whereas non-believers enter into conscious suffering apart from G-d. We believe in the L-rd Yeshua's personal, bodily, and visible return. At that time, He will lift the corruption that now rests upon the whole of creation, completely restore Israel to her own land, realize G-d’s covenanted promises, and bring the whole world to the knowledge of G-d as He rules upon the throne of His Father David for one thousand years. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men. In the first resurrection, believers shall be resurrected to enjoy eternal life with G-d. Non-believers shall be resurrected in the second resurrection to experience judgment and then eternal suffering/separation apart from G-d. (Jeremiah 30:7; Ezekiel 20:33-40; Zechariah 14:1-21; Daniel 9:24-27, 44; Matthew 24:30; Acts 1:11; Romans 8:19-23; 11:25-27; 1 Corinthians 15:51-53; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; 5:1-11; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10, 20:4-13)

Creation

We believe that G-d created the world in six physical days and ceased to work on the seventh day. G-d created the world just as He stated in Genesis 1 and 2. G-d made creation to be perfect, but through man’s fall, creation became corrupted. G-d will restore creation and make all things new. G-d created male and female in His image and made marriage between one man and one woman. G-d gives children as a blessing to one man and one woman from the moment of conception, and from that moment, children are a creation of L-rd, made male or female, which cannot be changed. (Genesis 1:1-2:3, 2:21-24; 1:26, 3:14-20; Isaiah 43:19, 65:17; Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 127:3, 139:13-14; Revelation 21:5)
