WHAT TO EXPECT
WORSHIP SERVICE
The worship service is currently led by three Jewish men: Senior Rabbi, Cantor/Assistant Rabbi (Hazan) and Deacon (Shamash). In the current order of the service: Everything starts with the greeting and announcements from the Senior Rabbi. Then we have a Shamash (deacon) who leads prayer for the congregants' requests. Which is followed by the Shema and Ve-ahavta and other liturgy prayers, bilingual, in Hebrew and English, led by the Hazan (Cantor & Assistant Rabbi), who also presents a short Messianic Moment of practical Torah truth before the message, alternating with a rotation of members who share a five minute drash (mini sermon) on the weekly parashah (Torah Portion). Occasionally, the Assistant Rabbi serves as the substitute when the Senior Rabbi is unavailable. Afterwards, the Senior Rabbi's teaching message is in English, with Hebrew and Greek vocabulary as needed.
FOR THE KIDS (Coming Soon!)
The kids are released in prayer by the Senior Rabbi before his teaching. We have Shabbat School with our Director of Education, Dr.Kerrie,PhD, in English with some Hebrew vocabulary, for grades K / 1 through 6 (ages 5 to 12 years old) and a nursery / toddlers / Pre-K class for ages 0 to 4 years old. For those desiring Bar or Bat Mitzvah, please speak with the Senior Rabbi and the Cantor/Assistant Rabbi.
