2-Player Rule Changes

In an effort to improve the enjoyment of the game, to make it slower, last longer and to allow for more strategic play with an increased power level, we've came up with the following changes to the regular 2-Player game:

Deck Size & Number of Card Copies

Deck size has been changed to a minimum of 50 and maximum of 60 cards, as opposed to the fixed number of 50 cards in the original game.

Reinforcement Deck size has been changed from 15 to 25.

Number of copies per card with the same name in both the Deck and Reinforcement Deck remains 3, unless stated otherwise by keyword mechanics.

Starting Hand. Maximum Hand Size

Both the starting hand and maximum hand size has been changed from 6 to 7 cards.

Mulligan

  1. On your first Mulligan, you are allowed to shuffle any number of cards from your hand into your Deck, then draw the same number of cards you shuffled.
  2. On your second Mulligan, return all cards in your hand back to the Deck, then draw 7 cards.

Battle Rewards

Instead of moving cards from the top of your Deck to your Battle Reward area face down, each player uses colored beads (or coins or tokens) to represent Battle Rewards instead.

For any mechanic or effect that wins or discards Battle Rewards, place or remove the same number of beads to/from a player's Battle Reward Area.

For any effect that moves Battle Rewards to your Hand, remove the same amount of beads and draw the same amount of cards from the top of your Deck.

For any effect that exchanges Battle Rewards with cards in your hand, exchange the same amount of cards in your hand and the top of your deck.

Win Condition

A player wins the game if they accumulate 15 Battle Rewards, instead of the original 10.

3-Player and 4-Player Rules

We're working on creating a PDF guide for the 3-Player and 4-player rules we've designed and tested over the last few years, expanding the game to include multiple Battlefields, Bonus Cards, Victory Points and other board game-like mechanics.
