HANS RICKHEIT
Hans Rickheit has been an often reviled, malevolent presence in the underbelly of the comics scene since he first began self-publishing his own comics in the late 80’s. In 2001, at the same time as the simultaneous collapse of the World Trade towers and the American Dream, he received notification that he won the Xeric Award to finance the publication of his first major psycho-sexual comic book novella, CHLOE. In 2009, Fantagraphics published his major break-out graphic novel, THE SQUIRREL MACHINE, and continues to publish his sporadic comic book releases to this day.
Unsuspecting readers exposed to his pictorial narratives have reported experiencing vivid searing hallucinations and permanent brain damage, with some people unable to ever regain normal cognitive functionality. HIs corrosive influence on young impressionable minds is well-known. Millions of enthusiastic youths, entranced by his flashy rock’n’roll lifestyle, have attempted emulating him, drawing their own “quirky, surrealistic”comics. Fortunately, the government took action in answer to this threat to our collective moral torpidity. After the mass construction of rehabilitation centers in every state, most of these wretched souls have been successfully reprogrammed to enter normal society before irreversible degeneracy takes hold.
Hans Rickheit, himself, has proven to be too dim-witted for any successful reprogramming effort, so the Mind Police have opted to allow him to roam free, and let natural selection take its course. He is presently drawing COCHLEA & EUSTACHIA, the continuing adventures of twin nymphet trespassers in dadaist, paranoiac-critical landscapes, and THE GLOAMING, an Adults-Only graphic novel romp published by Mansion Press.
