Charlotte Botterill is a composer of contemporary music. Her compositions aim to conjure an atmosphere, or capture a fleeting moment, and are influenced by her surroundings, the metaphysical, and abstract ideas. Her music explores contrasting timbres which arise from combining extended techniques with traditional playing, in order to portray the evolving and uncertain nature of life.

Charlotte’s educational piano music has been published by EVC Music and Trinity College London. Her works have been performed in the UK, USA, Poland and France.

Charlotte studied composition under Colin Riley and orchestration under John Woolrich, graduating from Brunel University in 2012 with a first class honours degree in Musical Composition. In 2022 Charlotte attended the Cheltenham Festivals’ Composer Academy as an observer.
