My Story

Hi, I am Christiana Hardege and I love most things that help me stay committed to my health, well-being, and self care. Yoga and my commitment to those things has helped me develop a much better relationship with myself which I will forever be grateful for.

I received my YT Certification in 2024 from YogaRenew online but I didn’t start out loving yoga. I had tried yoga in my early 20’s and honestly, I didn’t get it. The classes were nice and calm but yoga just did not resonate with me the way it does now.

As I got older, being a wife and mom of 2, my future health started growing in importance. So, in 2018 I made the decision to take control of my habits so that I had the best chance to live a healthy active lifestyle with independence as an older adult. I made many lifestyle changes that resulted in some pretty great health transformations. One of those changes was exercising consistently and through the process I grew to love moving my body and that is what led me back to yoga.

At first I was just playing around with some of the challenging poses like crow or seeing how long I could hold a 3 legged chaturanga. I started looking online for yoga classes to practice with, attending classes at the gym. I loved, and still do love, learning what my body is capable of. It wasn’t long after that I started really trying to learn more. So I checked out Mark Stephens' Teaching Yoga book from the library and started designing my own sequences. And the spark to teach yoga was ignited. Like many goals in my life that seem unattainable, I tried to extinguish that flame. But it only grew and grew until after about a year of internal debate, I finally signed up for my yoga teacher training.

I teach vinyasa (flow style) yoga with an added focus on building strength for long term health and an active, independent lifestyle alongside a sprinkling of mindset to help students overcome patterns that hold them back from becoming their truest version.

My approach to teaching is that yoga is not a rigid one size fits all practice and every class and pose can be adjusted so that each student can tailor it to their own needs. Even though many of my programs are progressive, I have the intention within every offering to help students learn to love the journey so that self-care becomes non-negotiable. I am guessing that many can relate to my past experience of prioritizing everyone and everything else in my life so that there was nothing left for myself. But that all changed in 2018 when I made myself a priority and began showing up for myself consistently. That capable, confident, proud feeling is something I want for everyone …. Helping you to learn to enjoy the small steps along the path in your journey is my main goal.

Welcoming, accommodating, not serious, moderately challenging, strong focus on making practice fit your body and needs are the kind of classes you can expect from me. Classes are often accompanied by a bonus class that turns yoga poses into strength or flexibility building moves.

The Affirmation Journey is a series of chakra based classes paired with practical tools to get deep into the mindset and tackle limiting patterns or beliefs. And soon to follow is Yoga Strength for Beginners.

Build strength, flexibility, and do some mindset work. Learn to confidently practice in any yoga class while building a deeper connection and relationship with yourself.
