I come from a long line of fibre-obsessed women, and learned to knit from both my mother and grandmother. In the last few years, I have taken up spinning, which has deepened my understanding of how fibre and structure affect the knit fabric.
My work has been published in Twist Collective, Knit Now, and various Interweave publications. My self-published patterns are also available through Ravelry and LoveCrafts.
I’ve been writing knitting patterns for several years. All of my patterns have been tech edited and tested or have been reviewed by two tech editors to make sure you can enjoy your knitting, rather than wrestle with the instructions. I always include an ‘About the yarn’ section, which describes the structure and characteristics of the yarn used in the sample(s) and gives tips on what to look for in a substitute yarn.
I respect the value of your knitting time, and strive to make my patterns easy to understand and error-free. If you do run into a problem or an error, please do not hesitate to contact me at elizabeth at eelliottknits dot com. If an error slips through the editing process, I will fix it and get a corrected version out quickly.
