Hi, I'm Jocelyn.

I'm a career school counselor with over 26 years of experience in Ohio high schools, and I'm currently a PhD student in Counselor Education and Supervision at The Ohio State University. I created The Empowered Parent Hub after watching hundreds of families navigate the college and career planning process — some breezing through it, others feeling completely lost, and most somewhere in between.

My work is grounded in strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approaches to transition planning — which means these tools are built to genuinely work for every learner, including students with IEPs, 504 plans, or who simply learn differently, without losing sight of the fact that every family's journey looks a little different.
