I’m Damon Forshaw, founder of Forshaw Care Consultancy, with over 11 years’ experience working within children’s residential care.

Having worked directly with children, staff teams and managers before progressing into Registered Manager and Responsible Individual roles, I understand the realities of running a children’s home - not just what good practice should look like on paper.

My approach is relationship-led, therapeutic and grounded in curiosity. I believe strong homes are built through strong relationships, confident leadership, honest reflection and cultures where people feel supported enough to learn, but accountable enough to maintain high standards.

Through Forshaw Care Consultancy, I provide RI services alongside practical leadership, safeguarding and quality-assurance support. I also develop resources for Registered Managers and residential teams that turn complex expectations into straightforward, usable guidance.

My aim is simple: to support the people caring for children to feel more confident in what they do, understand why they’re doing it, and ultimately create safer, warmer and more therapeutic homes for children.
