Understanding Reiki: A Journey Back to Wholeness

What Is Reiki?

Everything is energy.

Your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, physical body—every part of your being is made of energy, constantly moving, shifting, responding. Before anything becomes a physical symptom, emotional trigger, or mental loop, it first exists in your energetic blueprint.

That’s where Reiki works.

Reiki is a gentle, powerful healing practice that brings presence and vibrational support directly into the body, helping to release the unresolved energy that lives beneath the surface—old beliefs, protective identities, nervous system patterns, or unprocessed emotion. It often lies dormant until something triggers it.

This energy can sit like quiet weight in the system—held in the emotional tissue of the body, layered beneath the conscious mind, shaping how we show up in the world.

Reiki meets that energy with love, not force.

It brings in a high-frequency field of safety, support, and stillness so your system can begin to soften and let go. That’s why I often describe Reiki as an internal shower—it gently clears and dissolves what’s no longer needed, washing through your energy field and making space for clarity, flow, and peace.

The Heart of Reiki

The word Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is Japanese and can be translated as “spiritually guided life force energy.”

Rei means divine wisdom or spirit, and ki means energy or life force—the same life force that flows through all living things. When our energy is flowing freely, we feel connected, calm, and alive. When it’s blocked or stagnant, we can feel anxious, depleted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from ourselves.

Reiki supports the return to flow. It reconnects us with the intelligence of our own body, the wisdom of our energy, and the truth of who we are beneath the noise.

What Happens in a Reiki Session?

Every session is unique because you are unique—and Reiki meets you exactly where you are.

You’ll remain fully clothed, either sitting or lying down, while I place my hands gently on or just above your body. From there, Reiki energy flows intuitively, guided by your system’s readiness and wisdom.

Some people feel warmth, waves, or tingling. Others drop into deep rest or experience emotional release. You might see colours, receive insight, or simply feel a profound stillness.

Whatever arises is welcome.

Reiki doesn’t impose—it invites. It holds a steady field of unconditional support, allowing your system to unravel what it's ready to release.

How Does Reiki Support Healing?

Reiki creates the conditions for healing to unfold from within.

Rather than trying to fix or push something away, Reiki meets whatever is arising with presence. It helps the nervous system regulate, softens the grip of old stories or identities, and offers a new level of safety for your system to begin letting go.

When we've held onto emotional pain, stress, or survival strategies for a long time, that energy can get stuck in the body. We might not even realise it's there until something brings it to the surface.

Reiki works gently at the vibrational level, where those patterns first began. Its high-frequency energy doesn’t override or bypass—it invites you back into a relationship with yourself. It supports emotional integration, opens space for clarity and ease, and restores connection to your real essence.

It’s not about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering who you already are.

My Lineage & Approach

The way I work with Reiki isn’t about quick fixes or surface-level relaxation.

It’s a deep, grounded, sacred practice—one that honours your truth and your timing. In this space, nothing is rushed. Nothing is forced. Your system is trusted and witnessed in its full intelligence.

Our lineage holds this same depth.

The first three levels of Reiki in our school are focused on the self. They are not certifications that rush you into becoming a practitioner or space-holder for others. While you will learn to offer Reiki to others during these levels, the foundation is always about healing and anchoring within.

To hold space for others with integrity, one must first learn to hold space for themselves—deeply, consistently, and with truth.

That’s why we’re developing advanced level courses for those called to walk this path. These advanced trainings are designed to support the embodiment of Reiki over time, through experiential depth, self-responsibility, and energetic maturity. Students spend over a year working with the practices and integration before learning how to truly hold space for others.

It’s only after this journey—after the self has been tended to, witnessed, and embodied—that we begin teaching the deeper structure of sessions, energy hygiene, cord cutting, and more. Becoming a Reiki teacher in our lineage takes years of devotion, integration, and energetic preparation.

Because to teach this work is to become the work.

Ready to Begin?

Whether you’re drawn to receive Reiki, explore your own healing, or begin the path of learning, you are welcome here.

Reiki is not something you need to earn or perfect yourself for. It meets you where you are and invites you deeper into your own truth, softness, and strength.

Your healing begins with your willingness to come home to yourself.
