My name is Dr Nadezda Bragina, and I’m passionate about making Russian language learning engaging, practical and inspiring!

I have been teaching languages for more than 20 years, working with learners of all ages and backgrounds — from individual students looking for personalised tuition to university and college groups. Over the years, I have taught in both the UK and Russia, including at Queen Mary University of London, the University of St Andrews, Belfast Metropolitan College and the International Institute of Management “LINK”.

I hold a PhD in language education and have specialised in teaching Russian as a foreign language, particularly to English-speaking learners. My research and teaching experience have given me the opportunity to explore one question that has always fascinated me: How can we make learning a language not only effective, but genuinely enjoyable? This question is at the heart of everything I create.

Over the years, I have developed a range of original Russian language resources, including «УРА! — Russian for Speakers of English», Russian Grammar through Songs, «Буковкины истории» for Russian-English bilingual children, and ЮLang Communicative Russian Language Course (A1).

My materials bring together language, communication, culture and creativity. I believe that learning Russian should be more than memorising vocabulary and grammar rules — it should give students the confidence to communicate, discover a new culture and enjoy the process along the way.
