Stan Mars is a Czech writer of speculative fiction whose stories examine people placed in unusual circumstances — sometimes far in the future, sometimes at the beginning of human understanding, and sometimes uncomfortably close to the present.

His relationship with books has deep roots in a family connected to bookselling, and books have remained a constant part of his life. His stories often circle around humanity, memory, discovery, technology, society, philosophical questions, and the consequences of the choices people make.

He does not stick to one genre. He writes whatever tune the universe happens to hum in his ear.
