How Mental Health Musings Became Storm Mosquitos

Where personal storms turn into characters, comfort, and creative healing.

Storm Mosquitos began long before the artwork existed.

It started as Mental Health Musings — my private place to release the thoughts I carried, the poems I wrote, and the storms I navigated alone. I created journals because writing was the only way I could breathe through anxiety, trauma, and the emotional chaos of everyday life.

But something unexpected happened.

As I wrote through my struggles, little characters began to form — tiny storm-coloured mosquitos who each represented a different part of mental health:

💙 Stormy — Depression

💛 Nelly — Anxiety

❤️ Buster — Panic Disorder

💚 Hope — PTSD

💜 Tempest — BPD

💙Echo — Schizophrenia

🤍 Felix — OCD

🖤Jay — Bipolar

Each character became a symbol of strength, survival, and the truth that mental illness doesn’t make you weak — it makes you weathered, wise, and resilient.

From those stories, poems, and long nights of journaling…

Storm Mosquitos was born.

These characters now appear across digital journals, clothing, merch, gifts, and mental health resources — helping people all over the world feel understood, less alone, and empowered to share their own story.

You don’t just buy a journal.

You choose a companion for your healing journey.

ABOUT ME — Rozzie, Creator of Storm Mosquitos & Mental Health Musings

“Turning storms into stories, and stories into support.”

Hi, I’m Rozzie the Mozzie — the artist, writer, and heart behind Storm Mosquitos and Mental Health Musings.

For most of my life, writing has been my lifeline. I’ve lived through anxiety, PTSD, depression, BPD, and the overwhelming storms that come with being a parent while managing mental illness. Journaling became the only place where I could tell the truth — the raw, messy, beautiful truth — without feeling judged.

What began as personal reflection slowly transformed into a mission.

I wanted others to feel understood.

I wanted people to know they’re not broken.

I wanted to create characters that made mental health easier to talk about.

So I turned my experiences into Storm Mosquitos — a world where mental health struggles are personified through gentle, expressive characters who carry both pain and hope.

Today, my work includes:

🦟 Digital journals

🦟 Printable guides

🦟 Mental health apparel

🦟 Children’s books

🦟 Artwork and tools to support emotional wellbeing

10% of all sales are donated to the Black Dog Institute to help improve mental health research and support.

This store is more than a shop.

It’s my heart.

It’s my healing.

It’s a place for people like us — the ones who feel deeply, break deeply, and rise after the rain.

Welcome to the storm… and the calm that follows it.

I’m so glad you’re here.
