About Sara
Sara is an integrative and functional nutritionist, educator, and homeschool mom of five with over 25 years of homeschooling experience. She holds a master’s degree in clinical nutrition and public health, with undergraduate degrees in biology and psychology.
After homeschooling all five of her children and teaching science in multiple homeschool co-ops, Sara noticed how often nutrition was missing from everyday learning, even though food plays such a central role in kids’ energy, growth, and health. She created this curriculum to give families a clear, practical way to teach nutrition at home — grounded in science, a love of cooking, and real-life homeschooling experience. Her goal is to help kids build confidence and understanding around food that will serve them well for years to come.
About Lily
Lily is an educator and curriculum designer with six years of classroom teaching experience and two additional years working in curriculum development. She was homeschooled and brings both a personal and professional understanding of student-centered, home-based learning. Lily holds a master’s degree in teaching and an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Virginia.
After becoming a parent and cooking daily for her own children, Lily began thinking more intentionally about the foods her family consumes and how food can support growing bodies. Combined with her background in teaching and curriculum design, this perspective shaped her love for creating lessons that are practical, creative, and rooted in real life. She enjoys cooking and believes the kitchen is a powerful learning space, where kids can build confidence, critical thinking skills, and an understanding of how food choices help their bodies function and feel their best.
