Curriculum Overview
Created by a homeschool mom of 25 years who is also a licensed clinical nutritionist, along with her educator daughter, this 14-week curriculum is designed for upper elementary and middle school students and offers a practical, engaging approach to learning about food and health.
A dedicated hands-on cooking day each week helps students not only learn nutrition concepts, but apply them in real life.
Why
Today’s students are surrounded by food choices, convenience foods, and often conflicting nutrition messages. At the same time, late elementary and middle school is when kids begin making more of their own decisions about what they eat—at school, with friends, and at home.
Yet many reach this stage without a clear understanding of how food affects their bodies or how to approach those choices with confidence.
This curriculum was created to fill that gap—not by telling students what to eat, but by helping them understand why their choices matter.
The goal isn’t perfection, but understanding.
