Yes! This is a six-week course with three lessons per week, and it can be used flexibly in a co-op setting. If your co-op has access to a kitchen, you could complete the weekly cooking lesson together and have students do the other two lessons at home. Or, you could work through the reading and activities from Lessons 1 and 2 together during your co-op day, then have students complete the cooking lesson at home with their families.

Yes - each week students make a new recipe from a different part of the world.

The curriculum is designed to encourage independence while recognizing that students in grades 2–3 have different reading levels and abilities. Most third graders should be able to complete Lessons 1 and 2 fairly independently, while second graders may need some support with reading and thinking through the questions and activities. Cooking lessons include simple, step-by-step directions that students can follow, but adult supervision and assistance will still be needed in the kitchen. Of course, every child is different, so the amount of support needed will vary from student to student.
