Founded in 2015 by Kirsten Fairlie, a recent graduate, pole enthusiast, and ambitious 24-year-old, Pole Junkie was born from a vision to make pole wear more accessible and styling options limitless. Armed with a fresh finance degree and a passion for pole dancing, Kirsten set out to co-found a project that would not only transform her career but leave a lasting impact on the pole community.

As Kirsten’s love for pole dancing grew, so did her desire to compete. But finding outfits that were functional, flattering, and perfect for the stage was a challenge. A decade ago, most options came from overseas, with steep customs fees, long shipping times, and limited choices in the UK.

Then came the lightbulb moment! Kirsten realised there was a big gap in the market, not only for pole wear in the UK but for the ability to buy all your gear under one roof. From kneepads to shoes to matching sets, she saw an opportunity to create something completely new. Three months later Pole Junkie was born and set up in her spare bedroom.

9 months in, it was clear Pole Junkie was more than a side hustle - Kirsten was going to have to move premises, take a leap of faith and quit her full-time job. It had to work, there was no backup plan, no safety net and boy are we glad she did.

Fast forward to now, you'll find Kirsten a CEO, entrepreneur, competitor, athlete, pole instructor, formidable leader, and of course loving mum to Lola, her four legged Chief Barketing Officer 🐶
