Hilarity Abounds in A Scourge of Pleasantries by Kim M. Watt (Book Review)

Hello Book Fiends,

If you've read my more recent short stories or especially my Cassie Black Trilogy, you'll (hopefully) have enjoyed the dark, tongue-in-cheek humor I've tossed into my sentences and paragraphs.

And if you enjoyed that humor, or if you just like an action-filled, humor-filled, talking cat-filled bit of paranormal mystery antics, then you're going to LOVE the first book in the Gobbelino London series, A Scourge of Pleasantries.

Now, you can watch a quick video review that gives a little more detail about the story if you click HERE, or you can just scan my less rambling words if you scroll a bit past that image. Either way, this book is only 99c so it's definitely worth a try if you're looking for a good laugh.

Gobbelino London & A Scourge of Pleasantries

If there's a book out there that matches my own snarky humor better than this book, please don't give it to me to read because I might just wet my pants. And no one wants to see that.

Besides the humor, there's a talking cat who can't quite seem to get his idioms correct, a touch of paranormal mystery, and plenty of tea...what more could I want? Okay, a great story, whip-crack dialogue, and a cast of unforgettable characters. And Watt managed to deliver all that in a terrific package.

If I had to find any fault, I'd say maybe the jungle fight scene (which takes place inside an apartment) toward the end went a bit long (I mean, I was eager to find out what was going to happen and the jungly madness just kept coming!), but it didn't detract in any way from the overall enjoyment of the novel as a whole.

I will definitely be diving into the next book in the series soon!
