About Me

Hi, I’m Natalie — an author, writer, and the creator of The Diverse Type.

I created The Diverse Type because I wanted writing support that was clear, practical, and actually helpful. Not vague advice. Not overcomplicated explanations. Not resources that look pretty but leave you more confused than when you started.

As a neurodivergent writer myself, I know how much difference it makes when something is explained properly. I also know how frustrating it is when writing advice feels inaccessible, overly academic, or designed for people whose brains work in a very specific way.

The Diverse Type is my answer to that.

Everything here is built to be straightforward, readable, and genuinely useful — with examples, exercises, and guidance that break things down without talking down to you. My aim is to make writing support feel calmer, clearer, and easier to actually use.

Alongside this project, I’m also a published author, so everything I create comes from lived experience as well as craft knowledge. I know what it is to build a book from the ground up, to wrestle with structure and prose and edits, and to need resources that help rather than overwhelm.

If you’re here, I hope you find something that makes the writing process feel a little more possible.

About The Diverse Type

Built by a published author who learned craft the hard way and made the resources she wishes existed sooner.

The Diverse Type is a writing resource platform created for neurodivergent writers and for anyone who wants things explained clearly, practically, and without fluff.

It was built around a simple idea: writing support should be accessible.

That means resources that are easy to follow, visually calm, and genuinely useful. It means breaking down craft in a way that makes sense. It means offering guidance that is practical rather than patronising, and supportive without becoming vague.

The Diverse Type focuses on:

  • Accessible writing guides
  • Step-by-step support
  • Practical examples
  • Exercises and prompts
  • Resources designed to reduce overwhelm rather than add to it

Whether you’re trying to strengthen your prose, understand structure, improve dialogue, or simply find a way into the work that feels manageable, The Diverse Type is here to help.

This is a space built for clarity, creativity, and different kinds of minds.
