Website Terms and Conditions of Use
Terms of Service
1. About these terms
These Terms apply to purchases made from The Pattern Scribe, including digital crochet patterns and membership of The Pattern Scribe Crochet Club.
By purchasing a product or joining the Crochet Club, you agree to these Terms together with the Refund Policy and Digital Delivery Policy.
2. Digital crochet patterns
All crochet patterns sold by The Pattern Scribe are digital products. No physical item will be supplied unless specifically stated.
Once purchased, a pattern is licensed to you for your own personal use. Copyright remains with The Pattern Scribe.
Patterns may not be copied, reproduced, redistributed, resold, shared electronically, uploaded to file-sharing services or passed to another person.
You may sell finished handmade items made using a Pattern Scribe pattern unless the individual pattern states otherwise. The pattern itself must not be reproduced or supplied with the finished item.
3. The Pattern Scribe Crochet Club
The Crochet Club is a recurring monthly digital membership.
Your subscription will renew each month automatically until you cancel it.
Founding Members joining at £6.99 per month retain that rate for as long as their membership remains continuously active.
If a Founding Member cancels and later rejoins, the membership price available at the time of rejoining will apply.
You may cancel your membership at any time through your Payhip account to prevent future recurring payments.
4. Your monthly pattern choice
Each active membership month includes one eligible Pattern Scribe pattern of your choice.
Your monthly choice must be redeemed during that membership month. Unused choices do not accumulate or roll over into future months and have no cash value.
Only patterns included in the current Crochet Club eligible collection may be redeemed.
Once an eligible pattern has been correctly redeemed through Payhip, that individual pattern remains available in your Payhip library even if you later cancel your Crochet Club membership.
5. New releases
Crochet Club members receive access to eligible new Pattern Scribe releases 30 days before they are released publicly.
During this member-first period, the new pattern is available to purchase using the applicable member discount but is not yet available as an included monthly pattern choice.
A new release becomes eligible for selection as a monthly pattern choice 60 days after its public release, unless otherwise stated.
6. Member discount
Active Crochet Club members receive 25% off eligible additional Pattern Scribe patterns purchased through The Pattern Scribe Payhip store.
The member discount is for the personal use of the active member and may not be shared, published, transferred or resold.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, the discount does not apply to custom design commissions, bespoke work, other services, or purchases made through third-party marketplaces such as Etsy or Ravelry.
7. Cancellation and refunds
Cancelling your Crochet Club membership prevents future subscription payments. It does not automatically refund payments already made.
Refunds for digital patterns and Crochet Club payments are dealt with in accordance with The Pattern Scribe Refund Policy and your statutory consumer rights.
Where immediate access to digital content is supplied, the rules concerning your statutory cancellation rights for digital content also apply. UK rules require customers to agree to immediate supply and acknowledge the effect on their 14-day cancellation right.
8. Changes to the Crochet Club
The Pattern Scribe may occasionally make reasonable changes to the Crochet Club, including the range of eligible patterns, member benefits or the way benefits are delivered.
Any significant change that materially reduces the benefits of an active paid membership will be communicated to members in advance where reasonably possible.
Changes will not retrospectively remove an individual pattern that a member has already validly purchased or redeemed.
9. Pattern accuracy and updates
Every reasonable effort is made to ensure Pattern Scribe patterns are clear and accurate.
If an error is identified, an updated file may be issued. Customers who purchased the pattern through Payhip will be able to access the updated version through their account where available.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights that consumers have under applicable law.
10. Third-party services
Purchases and membership access may rely on third-party services including Payhip, Stripe and PayPal. Temporary interruptions to services outside The Pattern Scribe’s reasonable control may occasionally occur.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK or another country, you also retain any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you in your place of residence.
12. Contact
If you have a question about a purchase, pattern or Crochet Club membership, please contact The Pattern Scribe using the contact details provided on the Payhip store.
