About Me

Hi, I’m Kaitlyn founder of The Sourcing Haus.

When my husband and I started collecting quotes for our own build, the numbers told a hard story: unless we got creative, we weren’t going to get the finish we wanted.

So I started looking at China. And when the quotes came back, I did a double take. The savings were huge.

But I wasn’t going to hand over a deposit on a hunch. So we packed up our three kids, flew to China, and met suppliers face to face. We walked the factories and checked the quality with our own eyes.

Here’s what struck me most: almost nobody was talking about it. Buying building materials from China is a taboo topic. Plenty of people do it, but few will say so out loud.

I’m happy to say it out loud.

Doing this well takes countless hours, plenty of time and real money to figure out. This guide is everything I learned, so you don’t have to start from scratch.

It’s honest, too. I’ll tell you what went smoothly, what didn’t and what’s still unproven. And it’s a Living Edition: as I place more orders and learn more, I keep it updated, and you get the updates.

See your selections in person, with Kaitlyn by your side. A private China sourcing trip can be tailored to your build, renovation or interiors project, with a focused three- or five-day itinerary.

YOUR PERSONALISED PROPOSAL

Your tailored package fee covers the agreed planning, accompanied sourcing days and follow-up support. You’ll receive a clear proposal outlining your itinerary, inclusions and total service fee before booking. Dates, supplier access and the level of post-trip coordination are confirmed in your proposal.

Your own flights, accommodation, travel insurance, visas, meals and personal expenses are additional unless expressly included. Product purchases, freight, duties and taxes, and independent quality inspections are quoted separately. Interpreter and local transport arrangements will be clearly set out in your proposal.

This is an optional add-on: you can choose sourcing support without travelling. Enquire with your project details and preferred dates for a tailored proposal.
