Breaking Labels is a short, practical professional development module that supports Beyond the Wheel Workshop participants to recognise how labels, assumptions, and everyday language influence expectations, decisions, and experiences — particularly for people with disability, conditions, or limitations.
Designed for support roles, workplaces, and community settings, this module invites Beyond the Wheel Workshop participants to reflect on the language they use and the assumptions they may unconsciously reinforce.
Rather than focusing on blame or compliance, Breaking Labels builds awareness and understanding, encouraging more respectful, strengths-based communication that protects dignity, autonomy, and capacity.
Grounded in lived experience and real-world practice, this workshop supports Beyond the Wheel Workshop participants to move beyond labels and engage more intentionally with the people they support.
