Pistachio
Salty pistachios in sweet ice cream are one of my favorite combinations. For an intense pistachio experience, I use high-quality pistachio butter for the base and stir in salty roasted pistachios once the ice cream is churned. The end result is an ultra-nutty ice cream, jam-packed with pistachio flavor. The addition of almond extract is controversial and, of course, optional. I go this route because I am a sucker for nostalgia and I recall all the pistachio ice cream I ate as a kid finished with a hint of almond extract. You do you, though! You got this!
