January Socks
So this is the first of (fingers crossed) twelve sock patterns from me for 2026 and why not start with a free one! Inspired by a doodle I did on some graph paper I thought it was about time I not only used it but also used some yarn I already had. This was after I had bought two new sock yarns but that’s another story.
Skill level
Knitting from the top down with a heel flap and ending with a round toe these are based on my basic sock pattern so are
super easy to follow. Written in just one size the colour work pulls the work in so they are in fact pretty ‘normal’ circumference socks, if there is such a thing as normal size feet or normal anything, approximately 22 to 24 cm around.
Materials Needed
4ply sock yarn, 50g or 200 meters Yarn A/Variegated Yarn, 42g or 170 meters Yarn B/Plain Colour (which is sufficient for a UK size 7 shoe, so if you are knitting shorter or longer you will need to adjust a little your yarn weight)
Needles: 2.5mm double pointed needles
Two moveable stitch markers, sewing up needle for grafting and scissors
You will receive a digital download pattern for these socks. Whilst they have been tested we are all human so if you encounter any difficulties please contact me at bluebirdanddaisy@gmail.com
