The Sunny Beret is worked seamlessly in the round, starting with the twisted rib brim. It is easy to customize the final look by adding or subtracting pattern repeats to adjust the height of the hat to make it less or more slouchy. In the children's sizes the beret has a more fitted style.
This beret is designed to be knit in two colors to accentuate the textured rib pattern. The pattern instructions for the two-color version are included. As shown in the cover samples, this beret can be knit with either a single color or a self-patterned yarn.
Sizes
XXS, XS, S, M, L
To fit: 18.5, 19.75, 21, 22, 23.25 (inches) / 47, 50, 53, 56, 59 (cm)
The sizes correspond to the following age groups
(please note, it is just a guidance):
4 yrs (6-8 yrs, 10-12 yrs, teen, adult)
The pattern requires from 50 to 75 grams of fingering or light fingering weight sock yarn. For a two-colour option hat you would need about 25% of Main Colour of yarn to be replaced by a Contrast Colour yarn.

US #2.5 / 3 mm, 16 inches / 40 cm circular needle, or size to obtain gauge;
US #2.5 / 3 mm double pointed needles (for crown shaping), or circular needles 32 inches / 60 cm, if Magic Loop technique is used;
stitch marker;
