Petal Showers

Petal Showers hat is a fitted beanie-style hat and the worsted weight yarn replica of my Sweet Daisy Hat design that calls for aran weight yarn. These hats have been inspired by the abundant tree blossoms we enjoy during Spring seasons. 

Petal Showers hat pattern comes in six sizes, from baby to adult.
You can add a pompom, if you like. You will need extra 10-15 grams of yarn depending on the size of your pompom, or how full you would like it to be.

Materials:

5mm/US #8, 16”(40 cm) circular needle, or size to obtain gauge;
a set of 5mm/US #8 double pointed needles;
stitch marker;
tapestry needle

Gauge:

18 sts x 24 rows = 10cm/4in square over the hat’s body stitch pattern with 5mm/US #8 needles;
16 sts x 28 rows = 10cm/4in square over Garter Stitch with 5mm/US #8 needles.
Adjust needle size if necessary.

a set of 5mm/US #8 double pointed needles;
stitch marker;
tapestry needle 

Yardage required (approx, excluding pompom):

yards /meters: 85 (100, 115, 130, 145, 160) / 78 (92, 105, 120, 133, 147)

Suggested Yarn:

Worsted weight yarn to obtain gauge.

The samples are made with:
Knit Picks Preciosa Tonal Worsted: 273 yards (250 meters), 100 grams (3.53 ounces) - XS size;
and Malabrigo Yarn Rios: 210 yards (192 meters), 100 grams (3.53 ounces) - adult size.
