Louise

PATTERN NOTES

Louise is a beanie style hat with a slightly negative fit. It is knit in two-color brioche and is fully reversible.

The hat is knitted from the bottom up in the round on circular and/or double pointed needles. The knitting starts with a basic long tail cast-on, there are no fancy or tricky techniques involved.

The simple sequence of increases and decreases shifts from section to section, creating a pattern reminiscent of the flowing glacial streams that feed Lake Louise, known for its turquoise waters.

13 sts x 21 rows to 4 inches / 10 cm square over the hat’s body brioche stitch pattern on US #8 / 5 mm needles, relaxed

YARN 

LC - any worsted weight yarn in a light colour
DC - any worsted weight yarn in a dark colour

I used a single ply yarn from stash similar in quality to Malabrigo Yarn Washted - 100% Superwash Merino Wool - 210 yards / 192 meters, 3.53 ounces / 100 grams
