✦ Chidori Tsunagi (Linked Plovers): Japanese Sashiko Pattern ✦
A printable, true-scale PDF for two crossing families of wavy running-stitch lines, linked into one continuous field.
Chidori, the plover, is a small shorebird long paired with waves (nami ni chidori) in Japanese textile design: flying steady through rough seas, read as perseverance through hardship, its cry heard as "chiyo," a pun on a thousand generations. Chidori Tsunagi carries that into a grid of interlocking curves, one line running top to bottom, another side to side, linking at every crossing.
