Modelling Ketches & Small Schooners
Modelling Ketches and Small Schooners
by

This download is 20 pages in length, and has 4,897 words, and 36 photographic images.
The first part is illustrated with images and descriptions of several small schooners and ketches that I came across during my time at sea, 1961 to 1992. Also plans of the British topsail schooners Hope (1849) and Julia (1870). The second part is a general illustrated account of my building of the topsail schooner Mary Sinclair, a similar vessel to the Hope and Julia. Although not comprehensive by any means, some simple techiniques are described, such as rigging in wire rather than thread. This is a very simple process, as no knots are used anywhere.
