The Rows That Don’t End begins in childhood blueberry fields, where an almost-empty bucket slowly becomes full through one small, repeated movement after another. Years later, the story moves to very different rows—the white stones of Arlington National Cemetery, where something immense becomes personal only when we slow down long enough to notice individual names and lives.

One teaches something about patient work.

The other asks something of our gratitude.

Centered on Galatians 6:9 and Psalm 90:12, The Rows That Don’t End considers what it means to remain faithful when progress is difficult to measure, to receive our limited days with wisdom, and to look closely enough that gratitude becomes more than sentiment.

Together, participants will consider the good work God has actually entrusted to them, the difference between faithfulness and endless activity, what weariness can—and cannot—tell us, and how to take the next faithful step without demanding to see the entire row or control the harvest.

A Hearthside Gathering can be used with a church group, women’s ministry, small group, Sunday school class, book-club-style gathering, a few friends around a kitchen table, or simply on your own.

The Host Guide provides gentle direction without requiring you to become a teacher. The discussion questions are designed to encourage thoughtful conversation rather than search for a single “right” answer.

And if gathering a group isn’t practical right now, the Participant Packet can also be worked through individually as a personal study and reflection.
