UK Moving House Planner: 8-Week Countdown & Change of Address
Moving house is hundreds of small jobs and a few big dates. This planner puts them all in one place, from eight weeks out to your first week in the new home.
It's a 28-page fillable PDF, written for moves within the UK. It covers the countdown, the day itself, and the long list of people who need your new address: HMRC, DVLA, both councils, the electoral register, TV Licensing, your GP, banks, pensions, insurers and the utilities. Type into it on screen or print it and write by hand.

What you'll download

How it works
- Digital download: one PDF file. Nothing physical is posted.
- Straight after you pay, you'll be taken to your download page, and you'll also get an email with your download link.
- Type straight into the fillable fields and tick boxes using a PDF app that supports forms, such as the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, then save. Or print on A4 at home and fill it in by hand.
- Some browser and phone PDF viewers don't save form entries. If that happens, use Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Undated, so you can start whenever your move does. If you have less than 8 weeks, start at the week you're in.
- Works whether you're buying, selling, renting or leaving a rental. Skip anything that doesn't apply.
- The images show made-up example entries. You get a blank planner.
- A4 size. It prints on US Letter with "fit to page", but it's written for the UK.
Written for the UK
The planner uses UK organisations and terms, with notes where England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland differ: for example, Northern Ireland has rates instead of council tax and uses the DVA rather than DVLA. Fees, deadlines and processes change, so it doesn't list them. Instead, there's a page of official links (gov.uk, gov.wales, mygov.scot, nidirect, royalmail.com and tvlicensing.co.uk) to check the current details.
Please note
This is a practical planner for organising your move. It isn't legal, financial or conveyancing advice. Check the current rules and fees with the organisation concerned, and follow your solicitor, conveyancer, landlord or letting agent on anything about your sale, purchase or tenancy. Don't write full account numbers, passwords or PINs in it. In an emergency, call 999.
How this was made
I designed this planner and chose its contents, which were checked against official guidance. I used AI tools to help draft some of the wording and to help build the layout of the PDF. Every page was checked, and the fillable fields were tested, before release. There are no AI-generated photos or illustrations.
Digital download and cancellations
This is digital content, available to download straight after purchase. At checkout, you'll be asked to agree that the download can start immediately and to acknowledge that you then lose your 14-day right to cancel under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. If the file is faulty or won't open, email lifeadmindesk@gmail.com and I'll put it right.
