It’s a chilly spring morning in New York. The smell of wet asphalt and tobacco fills the air. However, above all I sense the fresh coffee. It attracts me like a magnet and I know that just around the corner is my favorite cafeteria. I step in to the corner of the street and at the same time the first rays of sun light fall behind the shadow of the opposite house and warmly touch my cheek. I’ll stop for a moment. I look up at and see French balconies above filled with flowers. I open the door of the cafe and step inside. This is my favorite moment of the day.
Around the corner is a traditional triangle shawl worked from top center towards Outer edge. The other shawl side is worked with garter stitch, and the other is decorated with lace pattern resembling the French balconies.
Yarn: 5 skeins of ONION Knit No. 3 Organic Wool + Nettles yarn (Sport, 70% wool + 30% other, 160 m = 50g)
Needles: US 6 / 4 mm, 40” / 100cm long circular needle
Size: Wing span 176 cm and 80 cm deep, after blocking.
Gauge: 16 sts x 32 rows = 10 cm of garter stitch after blocking. One leaf is 6.5 cm wide and 8 cm high.
