Fantasy on Calon Lân (organ version)

Based on the Welsh tune Calon Lân, this piece was composed in memory of trumpeter Rhys Owens. After a soft chorale-like opening, the piece builds through several sections to a soaring climax, after which the trumpet has a poignant solo line, before the return of the chorale. 

The original version was commissioned by Neston Brass Quintet.

Two versions are available:

   (1) brass quintet

​   (2) organ solo

Both versions are suitable for a St David's Day service/celebration, and the organ version also works well as part of a recital.

Proceeds from this piece go to the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
