Working with relationships and families doesn’t need to be overwhelming and stressful! This is the training series for those who are ready to approach relational psychotherapy with confidence. Even if you're working strictly with individual clients, you'll be able to use these skills to craft conversations about relationships, dating, or even gaining skills for the future!
Sex, intimacy, and pleasure are some of the common issues that clients bring to therapy, whether or not they're comfortable telling us! Unfortunately, few training programs prepare mental health practitioners to be be able to have these conversations with clients in respect, direct, and comfortable ways. It's normal for all of us to find ourselves experiencing mismatched sex drives, differing preferences for sexual intensity, or even struggles with communicating about how to initiate the kinds of touch we want to give and receive. It's also very personal, and every client has their own levels of knowledge, comfort, emotional literacy, and sexual experience. This workshop will help prepare participants to assess common sexual desire issues, offer useful therapeutic techniques, and gain skills with talking about sex, intimacy, and pleasure in session.
Orion Neustifter (they/them), PhD, RP, and RMFT from Ontario, Canada shows participants how to help clients create a context for loving boundaries for thriving. We’ll explore different approaches to help clients find their strengths to support their growth, and recognize the potential areas sexual intimacy within their own relationships. This training comes from a position of community and interconnection, because sexual concerns are also important avenues for decolonization in the therapy room and the bedroom.
This training includes access to the live online workshop, a recording of the live online workshop, pdf copies of all worksheets/handouts to help you use the techniques you’ve just learned, and a pdf copy of the slide presentation. Each registration comes with the ability to access files twice through this page; you can log in here or use the information emailed to you (be sure to check your spam).
