ASSESSMENT OF COMMUNITY SELF-HELP PROGRAMME IN GAWU BABANGIDA GURARA LOCAL GOVENEMNRT, NIGER STATE
This study examines the relevance of community self-help programme to rural development in Nigeria with special focus on selected communities in Gawu Babngida Gurara LGA, Niger State. It focuses on how local initiatives and community participation contribute to improving social infrastructure, economic empowerment, and overall living standards. The specific objectives of this study are to know how individuals and groups in the various communities in GawuBabngida Gurara LGA have participated in rural development programmes and self-help programme in particular; to see what roles community participation by involvement of non-governmental organisations has played in self-help programme; to know if the self-help programme have boosted and complemented government development efforts in the rural communities; to create awareness in the rural communities so that they can envision and conceive self- help projects as well as implement them; to evaluate to what extent self-help programme can positively affect the rural communities in Gawu Babngida Gurara LGA. This research consists of a title page, approval page, certification, abstract, Chapters One to Five (from introduction to conclusion), and references.
