Painted Egg Sock Pattern
I have been taking part in the annual Cuddlebums Yarn Easter KAL for a few years now, it’s in its 10th year which is fantastic. You receive enough yarn with a complimentary colour to knit a pair of socks or mittens over the Easter holidays, in addition so some fabulous little treats too.
Difficulty
Knitting from the top down with a heel flap and ending with a round toe these are based on my basic sock pattern so are super easy to follow. Written with three different circumferences you can knit them as long as you need (link to measurements if you don’t have a foot to hand to know the shoe size), just end on your circumference size as shown by the letters S, M, L. There are tick off charts throughout so you can keep an easy note of where you are in the pattern.
Yarn and Notions
4ply sock yarn, 60g / 248 meters main colour (Yarn A) with 20g / 82 meters contrast (Yarn B) – total 90g / 330 meters
Needles: 2.5mm double pointed needles
Two moveable stitch markers, sewing up needle for grafting and scissors
Measurements
Small – 19 cm / 7.5 inches – 56 stitches
Medium – 22 cm / 8.5 inches – 64 stitches
Large – 24 cm / 9.5 inches – 72 stitches
