COMPARISON AND ACTIVITY OF SALIVARY AMYLASE FOR DIABETIC AND NON-DIABETIC PEOPLE
The main aim of this study is to assess the activities of salivary amylase among diabetic and non-diabetic patients and to give a comparison in Lagos State Teaching Hospital. DM has recently been associated with salivary amylase diagnostics that could further impair diagnoses in the diabetic population, as well as being an interesting alternative to traditional methods of determine glucose levels. The specific objectives of study are to compare the salivary amylase between diabetic and non-diabetic patients in Lagos State; to assess the caries and periodontal status of the diabetic patients and non-diabetic patients in the study area; to examine the activity of salivary amylase between the diabetic and non-diabetic patients in the study area.
