Ajiro Sashiko Pattern PDF — Wickerwork Weir Embroidery Template
A printable, true-scale PDF template for the Ajiro "wickerwork weir" design, with clear, step-by-step instructions so you go from print to stitched piece without guesswork.
Ajiro means "in place of a net," the old name for a woven river weir staked into the water to guide and catch fish; here that over-and-under weave becomes a checkerboard of plaited ribbons, three lines passing over and under like shaved bamboo.
Classic white on indigo, or any high-contrast pair, true basketwork texture that reads well on a bag front or panel. Shares a name-history with our Higaki pattern, sold here as a genuinely different construction, ribbons in a checkerboard versus Higaki's herringbone of planks.
