THE WAR ROOM: A Government and the Economy Game
The War Room is a high intensity presidential decision making simulation where students must keep a country stable while crises, elections, and economic pressures constantly push it toward collapse. Players begin with approval, inflation, unemployment, and a national budget, and must survive a full term by making rapid policy decisions before any of those systems fail.
Every few seconds, the nation drifts on its own. Inflation slowly rises, unemployment shifts, and the budget changes based on how healthy the economy is. On top of this, major national crises erupt without warning, including financial crashes, wars, pandemics, and housing collapses. When a crisis hits, the game pauses and players must choose between three policy options, each with different consequences for approval, inflation, unemployment, and government spending.
You receive a game guide with a student worksheet and a direct link to the online game for sharing with your students. If you are a teacher and are worried about the game being blocked by your school's server, contact us; there are two easy ways to make the game available besides the direct link.
