When Mum or Dad starts needing more help, the details pile up fast: medicines, appointments, carers, forms, and a family group chat trying to keep track of it all.

This 35-page organiser keeps it in one shared place. It's built for adult children (and anyone else) coordinating care for an ageing parent in the UK: who's doing what, what the GP said, which benefits you've checked, where the power of attorney is, and what the family agreed. Type into it on screen or print it and write by hand.

It's written for the UK, with notes where England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland do things differently, and it points you to GOV.UK, the NHS, mygov.scot and nidirect for the current rules.

  • Caring-for-Mum-or-Dad_UK-Care-Organiser_LifeAdminDeskStudio.pdf (PDF, 35 pages)

How it works

  • Digital download: one PDF file. Nothing physical is posted.
  • Straight after you pay, you'll be taken to your download page, and you'll also get an email with your download link.
  • Type straight into the fillable fields and tick boxes using a PDF app that supports forms, such as the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, then save. Or print on A4 at home and fill it in by hand.
  • Some browser and phone PDF viewers don't save form entries. If that happens, use Adobe Acrobat Reader.
  • Undated, so you can start any time. Print extra copies of the rota or logs as you need them.
  • A4 size. It prints on US Letter with "fit to page", but it's written for the UK.

Part of the Peace of Mind set

This organiser sits between our two other workbooks. The "If Something Happens to Me" Family Organiser is for recording your own details in advance. "Caring for Mum or Dad" is for while you're looking after someone. "After Someone Dies" is for the admin afterwards. Each is sold separately.

Please note

This is a practical organiser for keeping information in one place. It is not medical, legal or financial advice, and it can't tell you what someone is entitled to or what care they need. Always follow the advice of their GP, pharmacist and care professionals. For benefits, care funding or power of attorney, check the current guidance on GOV.UK, NHS, mygov.scot or nidirect, or speak to a free advice service such as Age UK, Independent Age, Carers UK or Citizens Advice. Rules differ across the UK and change over time. In an emergency, call 999.

Keep it safe

Once filled in, this organiser will hold health, personal and financial information. Store it somewhere secure, share it only with people your parent is happy to share it with, and don't write full account numbers, PINs, passwords or key safe codes in it.

How this was made

I designed this organiser and chose its contents, which were checked against official guidance. I used AI tools to help draft some of the wording and to help build the layout of the PDF. Every page was checked, and the fillable fields were tested, before release. There are no AI-generated photos or illustrations.

Digital download and cancellations

This is digital content, available to download straight after purchase. At checkout, you'll be asked to agree that the download can start immediately and to acknowledge that you then lose your 14-day right to cancel under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. If the file is faulty or won't open, email lifeadmindesk@gmail.com and I'll put it right.

Personal use

For personal use by you and your family. Please don't resell or share the file publicly.
