You’ve Been Taking Lessons In Love

Here's my transcription of Fats playing an obscure and long-forgotten tune, You've Been Taking Lessons In Love. It's a rather corny song but transformed into gold in the "enormous" hands of Fats Waller. This is Fats in "cute" mode with a song similar in vein to his Believe it, Beloved (see my previous transcription) with lots of playful bluesy and syncopated embellishments. This is happy piano playing!

I've transcribed the entire performance - 4 choruses - to show the full scope of Fats' playing - introductory piano solo, accompaniment while singing and during the band solos and the final climax. Due to sound quality and balance issues, some educated guesses were necessary.

I've done my best to get the "notes" but always listen to the original recording as the ultimate reference source of Fats' playing.
