Drive the cold winter away with this cosy cowl in chunky wool.
Featuring a flame pattern to recall the bonfires on ancient winter festivals, the cowl uses the amazing moebius cast-on technique which can seem strange at first but proves an oddly addictive knitting option.
The moebius twist makes the cowl sit beautiful round your neck – or as a hood if you make a larger version
with more pattern repeats. The technique also means that the flames grow towards both edges of the cowl
whatever way you wear it.
Materials
100g/180m [150g/270m] of wool or wool blend chunky yarn.
6mm circular neeedle (at least 80cm)
Stitch marker
Size
Smaller cowl is 35cm wide and is designed to be a
neck warmer.
Larger cowl is 47cm wide and is big enough to
wear as hood or loosely draping to waist.
