When the Watcher in Araithel fails to report in, Kite accepts the task of investigating his disappearance. She and Saryth have particular reasons for taking this on; Pyetr, the missing Watcher, is a friend of theirs, and they are familiar with Araithel. That's important, since it is a dangerous world for sorcerers, who are considered subhuman, feared and enslaved. Saryth knows the risks he faces, it's his home world.
