I love working with solid fabrics and one of my favorites are Kona Cotton solids and the Kona Cotton Color Card with all the 365 colors.
You can cut the color card up into single tabs which is really helpful to play around with while designing new patterns. To organize them I use a folder with slide covers for framed slides (I used Hama Slide Covers for Framed Slides, the thicker ones with the model number 2014) and to keep the color tabs in order I made small white paper slips with the individual color names and numbers on it so I can always put them back in the right order after playing around with many of them. Also the bigger writing makes it easier to find a certain color. And the single colors are better to be seen on a white background, less distractions from the nearby colors.

You'll get PDF files in A4 and US Letter paper format. The individual square-shaped small boxes with the writing on it are 4.9 cm / 1.92 “ so they can be put upwards and sidewards into the single tabs of 5 cm / 2" width. If necessary you can also cut them a little bit smaller to fit in your particular slides.
