I may be kind of obsessed with stars and star patterns and I don’t know if there’s a medical term for that but as long as it brings me so much happiness playing around with my design software and creating new ones I don’t think it’s a problem. It’s not, right? ✨
You can use this block in various projects: a mini quilt, a draw string as a special gift bag or a Christmas placemat. Or make several of them and turn them into a pillow, a wall hanging or a cute little baby quilt. And with the 4.5“ or the 9.5“ size you can add a little star sparkle to your next charm pack or layer cake project.
The pattern comes in ten sizes (4“, 4.5“, 5“, 6“, 7“, 8“, 9“, 9.5“, 10“ and 12“, unfinished at 4.5“, 5“, 5.5“, 6.5“, 7.5“, 8.5“, 9.5“, 10“, 10.5“ and 12.5“), with a coloring sheet and a bunch of design examples. The individual sections are clearly labeled and have a ¼“ seam allowance. There are no curves or y-seams. The pattern comes as PDF files in A4 & US Letter paper format.
This pattern is a beginner friendly foundation paper piecing (FPP) pattern that assumes basic knowledge of paper piecing. It does not include detailed FPP instructions or further instructions for turning it into e.g. a pillow or a quilt. You can find lots of free tutorials for the various FPP methods online. This pattern can be made with just a few cotton scraps from your stash.
