Crochet Christmas Placemat Pattern

The challenge from Hobbii Yarns for their Merry Christmas Pattern Campaign was for a classic, timeless pattern for the holiday season. What is more traditional that a festive placemat for your dinner table over the Christmas period. I chose their fabulous cotton yarn and set to work on this simple but eye catching placemat which is sure to be the talk of your table this year.

Crocheted in one piece the mat utilises a spike stitch to really bring the sections together, finished off with a star that is left unstitched at the top so you can pop your cutlery into it, it is the perfect mat for your table.

Difficulty

Written in US terminology you will need to be able to chain, single, half double, double and treble crochet.

Yarn and Notions

Hobbii Cotton 8/8 (double knit / worsted) in white, dark green, sunny yellow, red and green

4mm crochet hook

Sewing needle

Measurements

The mat measures 30cm / 12 inches by 40cm / 16 inches
