Laguna is a lightweight lacy scarf made in a classic rectangular shape. It’s adorned with picots along the sides of the scarf, and finished with a picot bind-off at both ends. The reversible openwork stitch, used in this design, is made by alternating 2x2 rib stitch and eyelet stitch patterns, which are easy to make and keep track of.
For a light and airy fabric, knit in finer weight yarns of plant origin and wet block your scarf with pins. If knit in a heavier lofty yarn, your scarf will look surprisingly different, with a distinct textural appearance, which is good on its own, right off the needles. Try both, and you will be pleasantly surprised with the results.
